Gulfton Home Community is a foundation created in 2021, based on the tradition of San

Mateo Episcopal Church at Gulfton.

This Church has been working for more than 40 years in this vulnerable neighborhood.

Gulfton is a small, densely populated neighborhood whose population is primarily

Hispanic (73%), foreign born (59%), has limited English skills (41%), is poor (74% make

less than the Houston Median Household Income, 33 % live below the poverty level and

71% are low-wage earners who earned less than $3,333 per month)
